National Conference 19 March London: advance notice‏

DCH National Conference: 19th March 2010 at the TUC conference centre in London. With national speakers and workshops, it's an ideal opportunity to meet tenant activists and supporters of council housing from all round the country, and find out more about the government's proposals to reform council housing finance.
More details will be sent out in January but put the date in your diary NOW and think about bringing a group from your area.

The new DCH campaign newspaperjust published, with eight pages makes the case against transfer and for direct investment; analyses the government's new proposals; and spells out the case for new first-class, affordable, council housing with secure tenancies, not more public-private partnerships.
Order enough copies for your area. Ask your council for funding – they always claim they want tenants to be well-informed. If they refuse, try asking local unions for financial help. Bulk order copies are £20 per 100; £120 per 1,000.

A number of councils, including some with ALMOs, are shamefully still trying to privatise their homes - find out who's doing what on our website. We need to unite to fight this threat and achieve the promised sustainable future for council housing.
If you’re facing transfer use the campaign newspaper and also resources from our website to write your own leaflets. And bring tenants, sympathetic councillors and union reps to our conference for information and inspiration!
